The Blackline is a Harley Davidson Softail pared to the bone. Visual elements of the original bobbed movement are combined with the raw, hand-hew style embraced by today’s young builders. Up front you’ll find the unique Split Drag handlebar and triple clamp-mounted speeds. Out back is a skinny, 144 mm rear tire and chopped fender. And in between rides a sleek fuel tank with low-profile fuel cap and trim panel, a retro round air-cleaner and a lower than- low 24-inch seat height. And, it all rides on top of a powerful Twin Cam 103B® engine. The Harley Davidson Blackline model gets all the details right without adding anything unnecessary, reflecting the true spirit of the long, black road.


The Harley Davidson Softail rear suspension mimics the clean lines of a vintage hard tail frame but offers the comfort of a modern suspension that is hidden under the chassis. The rigid power train allows tight packaging of the engine and frame and creates a solid connection between the rider and the power that moves the motorcycle.

We start with several passes of 200 micron flake over a silver base, then clear coat it, hand-lay and mask the pattern and apply the Candy color to allow the flake to shine through. Then more clear coat and hand striping to a deep smooth finish. It’s a painstaking process that delivers a premium custom look straight from the factory, so you can start flying your colors with no waiting, no stripping or extra effort.

User Manua1. See Figure 1. If not already assembled in package, assemble V-logo onto each mounting bracket (2 and 3) using #4-40 thread-forming screws (5). 2. Position luggage rack between sideplates of detachable passenger backrest assembly. 3. Thread button head screws (7) through washers (6), then through holes in luggage rack support and passenger backrest sideplate and into mounting brackets (2 and 3). Apply LOCTITE 243 (Blue) to screws (7) before installation. Finger tighten. 4. Tighten button head screws to 19 ft-lbs (26 Nm) .
